I wish to update all on the Two Year Herbal Studies Course. The program has closed at the end of October, 2011 but I am still receiving inquiries as to possible openings/cancellations. I would like to ask that if, at some point in the near or distant future you wish to share in fellowship on the Green Path, please send me a private e-mail so that I may make plans. We never know what the future may bring! IMPORTANT NOTICE: This is the last season that I will be offering the Two Year Herbal Studies program as we know it .... after requests, and consideration, for women that are interested in herbal study, but perhaps with a more spiritual emphasis than previously offered, I am re-writing & re-defining the Cats Tail Farm Herbal Studies Program to be offered at a point sometime in the next few years. This new program is entitled “The Green-Spirited Pathway; a Woman’s Journey with the Plant Kingdom” and will include plant identification, ethical wildcrafting, medicine making …. some new aspects of Mother Earths healing power – labyrinth work, earth ceremony for seasonal cycles, sacred space, in-depth sacred plant medicine …. and more that will be made clear to me as I write. Yes I WILL be including homework in my program as well! This is going to be a tremendous undertaking but I really am very excited to take this on. This comprehensive program in herbal education is a combination of on-site formal class sessions and hands-on workshops, with a trained herbalist providing guidance and instruction in many aspects of herbalism. The subjects include, among many others,
medicinal plant identification............materia medica of herbs by body system….. preparation of teas, oils, salves, tinctures ….. creating formulas for specific health applications….. exercises in plant spirit medicine ….. basic aromatherapy ….. designing a herb garden ….. growing your own medicinal plants ….. ethical harvesting of wild plants ….. general concerns of women, of men, of elders, of children, of companion animals ….. and much more.

Classes are scheduled for one full
day each month for the five months of June, July, August, September and
October, for two consecutive years. In addition to the on-site
herbal education, this program includes Rosemary Gladstar’s
“Science and Art of Herbalism” which is a series of ten self study assignments utilizing independent research on various aspects of
herbal medicine. You must complete projects and written homework for each of the ten lessons, which you mail directly to me. I will then review them and return them to you with suggestions and comments.
The ideal time to complete this is in the long winter months in between
your yearly class sessions! Please be aware that the Cats Tail
Farm Two Year Herbal Studies Course
is not designed to nor does it certify you as a clinical herbalist, master herbalist,
or any other "official" designation with little initials after your
name; it will not enable you to "hang out a shingle," perform medical
consultations or prescribe remedies. This program is focusing on self sufficiency;
it is designed so that it WILL give you a deeper insight into the
blessings
of the Green Nations along with ten-fold awareness of
Mother Earth and the gifts available to you to use as tools to be in
touch with your own healing process and that of your family.

A certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of the Home Study portion of the Cats Tail Farm Herbal Studies Course. PLEASE NOTE: the 2012 - 2013 session is FULL and registration is closed. Please contact me if you wish to be placed on the waiting list for the next available session. Attendance at all sessions is mandatory. Class size is limited to ensure individualized attention to each student. I can promise you a lot of good Green fun! A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your registration for the 2012 - 2013 session. Tuition is payable as follows: $100 non-refundable registration fee, applied to the tuition; the sum of $400 due at February 1, 2012 so I may order the materials; and the balance due on or before May 15, 2012. The tuition fee includes all teaching time, mentoring, one-on-one telephone time with me monthly, homework review and correction, materials used at the group sessions, lunches and beverages, and costs of any field trips. You are responsible for all materials needed to complete the self study assignments at home. Please mail your name, address, contact information, expectations for the course and registration deposit check made payable to Marian Prezyna, Box 241, Wales Center, New York 14169. I will promptly contact you to acknowledge your deposit. I have to say that the first class was simply amazing. I've been in the area for a year and a half now, and I am not exaggerating when I say it was definitely one of, if not the most, poignant and special days I have had since being here. I felt instantly connected with my true spirit, and with the spirits within the group. Marian, you are exceptional and everything I have been looking for as a Sage, Green Mother, Teacher, Guru, Mentor. There was even a moment during our infusion "taste-testing" when I just smiled and looked around at the excitement, happiness, and connectivity we all were sharing while exploring and nourishing our green spirits.
